Amway Corporation was founded in Ada, Michigan, U.S.A. in 1959. Its Co-founders, Richard M. DeVos and Jay Van Andel, were still in their twenties when they had the idea of direct selling for a range of quality consumer products. They started the company using their home basements as an office and warehouse.

From its humble beginning, Amway Corporation has grown rapidly into an international enterprise that benefits millions of people worldwide.

A Global Success Story

Amway Corporation is one of the world's largest direct selling businesses. Amway was ranked 35th on the list of America's Largest Private Companies by Forbes Magazine in 2017.

Today, Amway operates in more than 100 countries and territories with over three million independent distributors for its products. Its headquarters in Ada, Michigan, occupies a 280,000 square metre site, and includes a research and development centre, manufacturing plants, warehouses, and office facilities.

Amway's first overseas market was established in Australia in 1971. Since then, successful affiliates have opened in more than 100 countries and territories in Asia, Europe and Africa.

In 1995, Amway (China) Company Limited was opened. Today, it operates in 31 provinces and becomes the largest overseas market of Amway.
